Indie Focus: Spotlight On Faithless By Graham Austin-King

IS THIS THE EVENTUAL WINNER OF #SPFBO 2017?

YOUR INTRODUCTION TO A POTENTIAL WINNER OF THIS YEAR’S SPFBO COMPETITION

It’s been approximately two months since this year’s Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off commenced, and it’s time to shine the spotlight on one of the early favourites to win the contest. Faithless is (for the time being) a stand-alone novel by British indie author Graham Austin-King that has very recently made it on to my TBR list. If the early reaction to the novel is any indication I suspect it will end up on many more readers’ TBR lists in the coming weeks and months.

A CONTENDER FOR #SPFBO 2017

A LIGHT BULB MOMENT FROM A GENEROUS BENEFACTOR

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS THE BOOK CONTEST FOR INDIE AUTHORS THAT IS TAKING THE FANTASY SCENE BY STORM

If you’ve not yet heard about The Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off, this is a brief introduction to the most exciting development in independent publishing in the last couple of years. As the name probably suggests, the SPFBO is a book contest for self-published books in the fantasy genre. It is the brainchild of fantasy author, Mark Lawrence, who made the following observation in a blog post in February 2015:

“…as a new author, particularly a self-published one, it is desperately hard to be heard. It’s a signal-to-noise problem. Who knows how many Name of the Winds or [fill in your favourite] are lost to us because they just couldn’t be seen? None? A hundred?”
